In Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5, Quake blew up the world. At least, that’s one theory. From what we know so far about how the Earth was destroyed in the future, Agent Daisy “Quake” Johnson (Chloe Bennet) was cited by Deke (Josh Ward) as the sole cause for the end of humanity’s homeworld. Of course, Deke himself may not be all that reliable; he admittedly pieced together his evidence from news clips within the virtual reality technology of the Framework he salvaged.
However, if Deke’s theory proves correct and Daisy did quake the world asunder, this carries earth-shattering ramifications for the Inhumans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In short, if Daisy has the power to destroy a planet, that makes Quake the most powerful Inhuman in the MCU.

Within the society of Marvel’s Inhumans, their king Black Bolt (Anson Mount) – whom Daisy and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have never met and currently don’t even know exist – is acknowledged as the most powerful of all Inhumans. His power is part of the reason he was named King over his brother Maximus (Iwan Rheon); the Genetic Council felt Black Bolt’s ability to generate a destructive force with the sound of his voice was their ultimate weapon against an unnamed ‘Great Enemy’.

We only see Black Bolt use his power a few times on Inhumans,
and never to its full extent. The most of his power he has unleashed was to bury the entrance of the Royal Bunker on Attilan with rubble to seal Maximus within. What Black Bolt can truly do with his voice has never been shown. His full power is the source of conjecture. Potentially, if he ever yelled, Black Bolt has the power to shatter mountains. Conceivably, he could also tear apart a planet – his comic book counterpart is said to possess that much power.

However, we may never know the extent of Black Bolt’s abilities. The creative and ratings failure of Inhumans seems to indicate the Inhumans is dead as a continuing series. While no official word on
Inhumans‘ future has been given, Marvel insiders like director James Gunn and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ‘s Ming-Na Wen have indicated their belief that the Inhumans series is finished. Whether the characters themselves could return, possibly later in S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5, is anyone’s guess.

If the Inhumans Royal Family really are being swept under the MCU’s rug, Daisy Johnson then emerges as the most powerful of the Inhumans, which could be part of the plan. The Royal Family may now be seen as a toxic property; meanwhile S.H.I.E.L.D. ‘s version of the Inhumans have generally been more successful and well-received. Quake has been the most prominent of S.H.I.E.L.D. ‘s Inhumans since season 2. It makes sense for Daisy Johnson to essentially become Inhuman Number One.

If Quake does ultimately turn out to be the reason why Earth was destroyed, such power makes her not just the apex of the Inhumans but also ranks her as among the most powerful super humans in the MCU. Quake would have to be regarded as one of the ’30 ton nuclear warheads’ Secretary of State Ross (William Hurt) categorized Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) as in Captain America: Civil War . And like Thor and Banner back then, Quake has ‘gone missing’ as far as the world of 2017 knows.

Should the Inhumans Royal Family return for season 2 or cross over with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , Quake could even be revealed as the ‘Great Enemy’ the Inhumans have feared. Daisy Johnson is the only other Inhuman we’ve met who has the power to go toe to toe with Black Bolt. They’ve also both led teams of Inhumans. Given her improved battle prowess throughout the run of S.H.I.E.L.D. , our money would be on Quake in a fight.
